  • These biomarkers are associated with an increased risk of placenta-related diseases such as pre-eclampsia and early onset fetal growth restriction. However their usefulness has not yet been established for everyday clinical application 9.
  • The lack of predictors of late onset FGR makes longitudinal surveillance of growth throughout pregnancy still the key method for assessment.
